Game Deprived

I am… so sad. I haven’t been able to play a game in such a long time. Ugh. Seriously, that is all I want to do right now. But I haven’t. Actually, the only game I have been playing is Reckoning…. I think I should play some of my others.

I was saving Uncharted for when I have the recording thing for YouTube… but I don’t know if I want to wait that long. I haven’t been playing Batman because… it makes my eyes hurt the way I play it. I am not going to lie. *laughs* I am horrid and keep it on Detective Mode. Actually, there was someone who made a good point:

When I enter a new area, I’ll scope everything out in DM, then turn it off and walk around again. Or, if I’m revisiting, I’ll use R3 to zoom, turn on DM to see if there are any threats, then turn off DM to appreciate the environs and game atmosphere.

I might have to consider doing that so I don’t keep it that way. I feel like I miss a lot doing it that way. Like, they work so hard to set up the place. I just don’t want to miss the Riddler’s Stuff and whatnot.

Oh… it has been so long since I have played, I may have to look up how to do thing. I wonder if they have a booklet in the case like Skyrim did…..

I am going to try to game tonight… I feel so… odd. ;P

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – 7/19

Yes, this is the game I have been playing a lot. I thought I was close to getting done. I was SOOOOOO wrong. Which I have to admit I am really happy about. I never realized how big the map was until I was curious one day, and went to see how far I could scroll out.

I was amazed.

I didn’t realize I barely touched any of it. Do you know how big the map is? Oh, let me show you:

Do you know how much I have done?

AmalurMapThe circled part in blue. And that blue arrow points out the next area I am about to go to. (Ysa.)

What does this mean? This means I will be taking a break from it to play other games in-between. I won’t stop completely, because I LOVE this game. I was really hesitant about some missions (For the Traveler’s mostly. That Star Camp and having to steal things just has me iffy. I normally don’t do it, but I cannot not have a quest done. Plus, this isn’t like Fable. My reputation isn’t quite on the line.) But I did them. I am at the point where there are almost no quests left in this area: Which was my goal. I keep worrying that I am missing something though. Because sometimes it won’t show on my map until I am near that area. Or until I enter a building!

I might just have to jump around a bit to make sure before I keep moving forward. I need to get those books as well… but I have a feeling that that will only be finished way down the road. I haven’t seen any markers for it lately, and I actually aim for them. As well as some sort of map completion. Ha.

Which somehow reminds me I need to make a lot more health potions. I might storing all of the ingredients and such that I have to make things… Because they are honestly taking up so much room in my inventory. I run out of space quickly. It kills me that I have had to leave weapons behind that may have sold better. *laughs* I could have destroyed some of the not so great ones (Which I have started to do more of recently) but I have to scroll and look for the lowest of the low level stuff… and did I mention I have a LOT?

But I am glad with my progress. I have decided to go for Finesse/Sorcery Destiny. It fits me best. And I have Chakrams and a staff right now. But I am probably going to go back to my daggers. Those things were much better. Staff is too slow for me. Oddly enough.

I shall try to take an updated picture when I have a chance. My character looks decently cool. I still want to find a way to take better pictures on the PS3 and such. My husband was talking about how I could start a channel playing these older games and such and record what I do. It’s too late for this game, but who knows. I have barely started Batman, and I have barely started Skyrim. And I haven’t even started Uncharted yet nor have I started Tomb Raider (Still haven’t gotten it yet sadly).

Oh, the thoughts. We could see how that goes.

Have you played this game? Have you finished it? How far are you? I want to know!

Behind the Times: Uncharted Series

I FINALLY have a whole other series added to my collection! We have had the Special Edition Uncharted 3 for quite a while. And now I have the first two! (Unfortunate story: My dog, when my back was turned and I was talking to my husband, she got on my bed, stole my case and chewed it up. I was able to save a cover and had a backup case to use… but I was VERY upset. Gr.) But here are the new to to complete that series (For now until I start PS4 games).

20150719_201545(Sorry for the poor picture. I didn’t realize it was so blurry. I will try to fix it sometime soon if I get a chance.)

Another series I have been dying to try. I mean, come ON. It’s like Indiana Jones but not for the museum! It sounds like an amazing storyline and I just.. Gwah! I think it is why I kind of like the sound of Tomb Raider. That type of story like thing going on. Anyways… super excited!

Still going to work on the other ones first. I just realized how BIG the Kingdoms of Amalur game is. I thought I was close – oh NO. I’m not. But that is for another entry.

This one is about how excited I am about this guy now being in my ever growing collection:

Skyrim – 07/16

First off, that is a pretty cool picture. Wish I could link to it, but the site is all in another language so …. Sorry.

Now… where was I? Oh yes, I actually played a little bit yesterday as well. Not much though. And I almost feel like I should have played a different game. (Poor Batman… he is being ignored for now. I should try playing that tonight.) Anyway I was trying to discover areas a little bit before going to the next place. Can I say that the places are much closer than the map has them appear? I thought they would be much farther, and then I trip over the town I was supposed to go to. I am kind of happy, because it means reasonable traveling in regards to getting to places. But I was also prepared for the long haul and a lot of walking. My husband made it sound like it took eons… but then again, I am much more into RPG games so things like this I am used to.

Anyway… I was walking around, trying to discover areas on the map just for fun, when I came across some farms. Then a stable. Turns out to be Whitehall, the place where my next ‘main mission’ is. Dang. So to avoid it, I notice this image thing looking like it has tusks. I had no idea what it meant. (Some might be going “Idiot! Look it up!” or “Idiot! It means Giant Camp!” or “I have no idea what you are talking about… horrible description.”)

Just so you can see it (and for future reference for me):

Do you see the one I am talking about? It is on the bottom row, right hand side under “Camps”. The tusk one that says Giant Camp.

Yeah… wish I knew that.

And I didn’t save before going over. Yeah… apparently I didn’t learn my lesson. T.T So… I walked over. (Keep in mind I was trying to hunt things because I wanted to make leather to make lighter armor so I can move faster and adjust my playing style… I will talk about that later…). So I got excited: There was a Woolly Mammoth! Imagine the Leather I can make from that! So I walked over. I noticed these ugly things and was like “Oh, I should be oka-Whoa… they’re big. Maybe they won’t – crap. I died.” One hit. Boom. My first interaction with Giants. Yeah… I am not the most brilliant person at night apparently.

So it loaded back up… to a point before I reached the farms. I lost all the extra stuff I collected on the way, and the sneaking level I gained and – really? Crap. So, I rediscover the farms, the stable, and found some wolves to get their hides. Then, I suck it up and go into Whitehall. But before I go into that…

I have to ask: What is the best way to hunt? I was trying to take down a Moose and was able to get in a decent distance, but one shot of the bow doesn’t take it down, and it left before I got any others. Do I just rapidly fire arrows so hopefully it hits him multiple times and bring him down? I just want the hide!

I guess I will just have to work on it and my skills.

ANYWAY: Back to storyline. I was in Whitehall, talked to the Jarl (nice guy) and he introduced me to his magician. He then talked about getting a stone tablet from Bleak Falls Barrow. Instant reaction:
NOOOOOOOOO! I don’t want to go back! (See previous entry to find out WHY). Then the most beautiful thing happened: An option of “Oh, you mean this old thing (Hands over item)”.

I danced.

Not literally, but I felt like it. And now I can buy property in Whitehall??? I need to earn a LOT of money! And I will. Because I want to find out how to do so and just because. Another reason to start hunting!

And… that is about where I stopped. I was about to follow the general lady (her name starts with an I or L) to attack a Dragon (I think).

So, now you see into my crazy tired mind. Sorry about that. I need to start keeping track of names, because I truly do love storyline. It is one of the reasons a lot of people recommended it. “You like RPGs and Storyline? You HAVE to try Skyrim!” So I am working on that. It’s just… I am getting so caught up in everything that it is kind of cool.

Still working on the weapon thing. Any recommendations?

Skyrim – I can now play it!

I did it! I figured out how I can play Skyrim easily every time I get on so I don’t mess up the buttons and allow myself to be able to enjoy it. And the answer is the book listed above; the manual.

I used to be a manual girl for the games, because they didn’t used to teach you how to do everything from the get go in a tutorial. They didn’t. So you had to read the booklet to learn things. Not so much anymore. So I have been trained to pretty much ignore them.

Skyrim needs it. It has one. And for a good reason:

20150714_220144Yeah. I know. This fixed a whole bunch of problems for me. And I can still reference to it.

Now… that I can now play it (and remember to save constantly) I got farther into the game. Let me tell you, that Golden Claw Mission at Bleak Falls Barrow….. Scared the CRAP out of me.

Like, usually I explore and I have no issues and don’t mind things attacking me and handle it with ease. (Like Amalur: Reckoning. No issues what-so-ever.) But this place just send shivers down my spine and I rushed through the mission. I didn’t explore much just enough to complete the area. Which is WEIRD for me. I might be able to go back later to do a more thorough look, but for now, I was satisfied. *laughs*

I figured it all out pretty easily. I remembered the thief mentioning that there were symbols on the claw so I was able to put two and two together. (Ha. Figuring out how to look at the claw was the harder part. Don’t judge me. ;P)

By the way: BIG FLIPPIN SPIDER! EWW! I jumped. I can handle spiders in most games, but that one creeped me out.

Heart attack. I saw it, backed out of the room into the hallway, and waited for it so I can hit it without having to see it much…

I put my person in 3rd person. I can’t do the first person that well in this place apparently. *shudders*

But now that I am looking at it after the fact, the Nord things aren’t as creepy. Maybe playing in the dark with the door closed at night when I was tired may not have been a great idea. But I did get most of the map area. If I felt safe enough, I went to explore – And ran through. I missed a lot of linens and armor that I should have picked up to sell.

Also: I need to figure out a better weapon for me. I want something that deals a lot of damage but is fast. This slow hammer thing is killing me. I can’t do bows and arrows all the time, because it doesn’t work for close combat – which happens most of the time. So I need to figure out my playing style. And figure out the magic thing. I might just go into the wilderness to mess with the magic to see how much I like it and if I should improve those skills. I need to figure out a Skyrim playing style that suits me… and that will be much harder than some other games apparently.

I miss my chakrams:
Chackrams ss-038But I bet that I’ll find something I like here. ;P

So, I have an odd question for y’all: Do you know of a way to take GOOD pictures on the PS3? I have been resorting to my phone, and we know that doesn’t do well with TVs.

Character Picture

I promised a picture of my character from Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, right?

20150713_213110Sorry for the poor quality. Unfortunately, it is on my PS3 so getting a picture of it is a bit harder for me. But you get the gist. I am sad you cannot see her red hair! Oh well. At least it’s up… time to add to “About Me” Page as well. ;P

….. Yes, that means that was the game I played last night. I think tonight I will tackle Skyrim. I finished the series of quests I wanted to last night so ….

I am determined to continue Skyrim to see why it has all of the hype…

Another Game- Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning

Did I ever mention how much I LOVE this game? The handling system is pretty nice. I just have to refresh my mind once in a while to use it, but now I am good and it is so handy. How to set up the radial, how to easily access it during battle, still able to drink potion and such and yes… I love it.

How did I come across this gem?

Actually, it is kind of funny…. because in a long round about way, it is because of this Series:

You may be wondering… Wha???

Okay, so here is the deal. I LOVE Fable. (Sense a connection? No? I’ll keep going.) But we had gotten rid of the Xbox systems for a bit. (And we got it again, and then got rid of it again.) I have defeated the entire series (except the original! On my list people!) but I wanted to play it again. But we just had Nintendo and Playstation systems. So I wrote on my Facebook, reached out to my friends, asking for a game kind of similar to Fable. I wanted where my choices effected my reputation, but I can get houses and have tons of quests, etc. And so a couple of my friends (I mainly remembering the beautiful SaraH telling me) about this one. And so I picked it up.

And when I can, I keep playing it.

In fact, my husband walked in last night and was surprised: I was playing this game. (I have had this game for AGES… okay, months…). The only reason I haven’t been playing is because I just didn’t have time for a loooong time. (Why did I buy the other games then? Well… it was a GREAT deal, and I am going to make time to play them! I cannot keep doing other sorts of other stuff. I need to have fun too!)

He thought I would be playing Batman or Skyrim. I told him “I got a little frustrated with Skyrim becuase of the handing. I wanted something I am used to.” And I was serious. I adjusted to Reckoning easily. And readjust after playing other games easily. (Skyrim is KILLING me control wise. Batman is fine, but I feel like I am always in detective mode and my eyes needed a break.)

And I was telling the truth.

So, for all of those looking for a random game that isn’t quite mentioned nearly as much as others, I say play Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning! I enjoy it a lot. Agree or disagree, I cannot help but like what I like. ;P

(I will post a character picture later. I keep changing her hair between red and blonde. For a Dark Elf, she does it pretty well.)
